Godhra is the district headquarters of Panchmahal and sits at the eastern edge of central Gujarat, where the plain begins to give way to the tribal uplands. For rooftop solar it presents a mixed but workable profile. Irradiance is a little lower than the North Gujarat belt and the monsoon is more pronounced here than in Banaskantha, so the honest way to size a system in Godhra is against twelve months of billing history rather than a peak-summer figure - a quotation that quietly averages the monsoon away will overstate its own payback. Even so, the annual yield supports a strong residential case. Housing is mostly independent and low-rise with flat terraces, which keeps design straightforward: a household billing 300 to 550 units a month typically fits a 3.3 kW to 4.4 kW grid-tied array in one orientation, and PM Surya Ghar's residential subsidy of up to ₹78,000 covers a very large share of that installed cost. For many Godhra households the subsidy is the single factor that turns solar from a long-term consideration into an immediate one. Commercially, the district is anchored by the Godhra GIDC and, a short distance west, the much larger Halol industrial belt with its engineering, chemical and packaging units. These run daytime shifts with steady machine load, which means generated units are self-consumed against a commercial tariff rather than exported at a lower credit - usually the better return on paper, even though PM Surya Ghar does not apply to non-residential connections. On those roofs the practical constraint is almost always sheeting condition rather than economics, so we inspect purlins, sheet age and skylight layout before quoting and price any recommended repair as a visible separate line. Two local points shape the engineering. First, tree cover and mature growth around older Godhra neighbourhoods create real afternoon shadow, so shadow mapping is done on site across the day rather than assumed from a satellite image - a single untracked shadow across a string can cost more output than any module upgrade will recover. Second, the heavier eastern monsoon means earthing, cable entry sealing and enclosure ingress protection deserve attention beyond the minimum: sealed IP65 enclosures with proper compression glands, not tape. Net metering across Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar runs through MGVCL, the same licensee we already file with for Nadiad, Kheda and Anand, so the process and the sub-division routine are familiar. Godhra is a newly opened service area for us, covered on a scheduled project basis from our Ahmedabad base, and we state that clearly rather than implying a local presence we have not yet built.
