Official subsidy structure (per kW)
The central government pays subsidy on a per-kW basis, not a single flat amount. This is the exact structure published on the PM Surya Ghar portal.

Solar rooftop subsidy apply online - official 6-step process

Visit the official portal at pmsuryaghar.gov.in

Go to the Consumer page and select "Apply Now", or use Consumer Login

Enter your registered consumer mobile number, verify the captcha, accept the guidelines and click Verify

Enter the OTP received via SMS and click Login

Fill your profile details (Name, Email, Address, State, District, PIN Code) and Save

Apply for Solar Rooftop by selecting State, District, Electricity Distribution Company and Consumer Account Number, then submit the application

Solar panel subsidy in Gujarat for 2026 - what changes

Register on the national PM Surya Ghar portal with your DISCOM consumer number.

Select an empanelled vendor (we are registered in Gujarat) and approve the system design.

Installation is completed and net-meter application is filed with your DISCOM.

DISCOM inspection and commissioning report is uploaded.

Submit bank account details - the subsidy is credited directly, usually in 4–8 weeks.

Who is eligible in Gujarat?
Residential consumers with a valid Torrent Power, UGVCL, MGVCL, PGVCL or DGVCL connection, a shadow-free rooftop, and no existing subsidised solar plant at the same consumer number. Commercial and industrial consumers are not covered by PM Surya Ghar but can claim accelerated depreciation benefits instead.
